Six proposed wells mw-16, mw-17, mw-18, mw-19, mw- and mw-21 are to be used as monitoring wells. A geoprobe 7822dt rig will be used and has the capability to push 4 or 5 foot acetate sleeves to collect soil samples and log soils. Once the boring has been logged, the rig will convert over to augers to drill the 10. 25 inch boreholefortheinstallationofthemonitoringwell. Each monitoring well will be installed to a depth of ten feet below observed groundwater, approximately 25- feet below ground surface. Based on previous field activities conducted by ges, it is anticipated that groundwater will be found at approximately 15- feet below ground surface. The monitoring wells will be constructed of 4-inch diameter schedule pvc with continuous-wrap screen extending from final depth to approximately ten feet above the water table. Using 4-inch pipe and continuous-wrap screen will allow the monitoring wells to be converted to recovery wells if required.

After logging and sampling soils, the rig will use augers to drill 8 inch boreholes to be completed as air sparge wells iw-1, iw-3, iw-4, iw-5, iw-6, iw-7, and iw-8. The depth of the screen interval will be determined based upon field observations but will be three feet above the bottom of the boring (approximately 24-29 feet below grade).
